Matrix · Arcanum 11 / 22
Arcanum 11 · Justice
The scales; cause meeting consequence.
Reading
The Matrix of Destiny numbers its positions with the tarot majors, and the eleventh is Justice, following the Rider–Waite–Smith count where 8 is Strength and 11 is Justice. Marseille reverses the two, so name the deck before you argue the number. Justice holds the sword and the scales, and the Hermetic attribution ties it to Libra, the balance made a sign.
Where the Matrix seats this arcanum, it reads a temperament tuned to cause and consequence. Every act gets entered, every consequence returns, and classically the loop runs short here: what is sown comes back inside the same season rather than the next life. The Matrix treats this as inheritance and tendency, a comfort zone the life keeps returning to, never a sentence handed down.
At ease the arcanum reads as fairness others feel across a room: the clean agreement, the apology with repair attached, a decision weighed until it sits level. Its shadow is the scorecard. Grievances filed and kept, mercy withheld on principle, the letter of fairness turned against its spirit.
The tradition’s counsel is plain. Settle accounts small and often, name the debt, pay it, release the debtor, the one in the mirror included. A balance kept current never has to face a reckoning.
