The G Centre · The seat of identity and direction, the self that holds its course.

The G sits at the center of the bodygraph, a diamond between the Throat above and the Sacral below. In this system it is a centre of direction rather than a motor: it holds no drive of its own, only the sense of who a person is and where a life is pointed. Practitioners call it the seat of identity, love, and direction. It carries eight gates, each reaching toward a neighbor, out to the Throat, the Sacral, the Spleen, and the Heart, so the self is always wired to be spoken, sustained, sensed, or willed into being.

The I Ching sets its two poles cleanly. Gate 1 carries The Creative, pure yang, heaven, the force that begins from nothing. Gate 2 carries The Receptive, pure earth, the ground that takes in and carries. The seat of the self holds both: the drive to move and the willingness to be moved. Around them, gate 7 is The Army, leadership from inside the ranks; gate 13, Fellowship with Men, the one others confide in; gate 10, Treading, the care of how a person walks their own conduct; gate 15, Modesty, the low place that gathers; gate 25, Innocence, the self without guile; gate 46, Pushing Upward, the body carried into the right place almost by grace.

The reading discipline holds here as everywhere: defined is not better, open is not lacking. Defined, the system reads a fixed self, the same person across every room, a direction that stays true under weather. Open, the G takes in the identity and direction of whoever stands near and amplifies it, tuned toward the right places and the right company more than a settled sense of who it is. Open is not a self mislaid. It is the wider aperture for knowing which rooms, and which people, are worth the walk.
