Splenic Authority · The Body Deciding in the Present
The inner authority of instinct, a survival read that speaks once in the present and asks to be trusted before the mind can build its case.
Reading
The bodygraph resolves a person to one inner authority, and it does so by priority. The engine walks a fixed order: if the Solar Plexus is defined the decision is Emotional; if not, and the Sacral is defined, it is Sacral; if neither, and the Spleen is defined, it is Splenic. So splenic authority is what remains when the two centres above it stay quiet: no emotional wave to ride out, no sacral sound to answer. The Spleen is then the highest awareness left standing, and the body is read as deciding through it.
Third place is mechanical. The Solar Plexus rules from the top because the system holds its clarity only ripens across a wave, and that need for time outranks everything under it. The Sacral rules next because it is a motor, a defined engine of life-force that responds in the moment. The Spleen makes no force of its own; it is awareness alone, and its signal is famously quiet, a single flicker in the present that speaks once and is gone if missed. A quiet one-time knowing cannot out-shout a wave or a motor, so wherever either is defined, the Spleen yields to it.
Carried well, practitioners read it as the oldest intelligence in the body, an instinct for what keeps a person safe that fires before the mind assembles its case. Its shadow is that same speed turned against itself, the first read talked down, reasoned away, held up for review until it has already passed. The reading is the first flicker. Everything after it is commentary.
