Matrix · Octagram
Spiritual knowledge · The exam
The chart's spiritual exam, the question of who one is before the divine.
Reading
The Matrix keeps one worked point of the octagram for what it calls the spiritual exam. It is set as a question rather than a trait, the place on the star where the chart asks something instead of stating it.
The question runs two ways. Who am I before the divine, and is there anything spiritual inside to draw on. One school treats this as the most private position in the figure, the one a person can only answer from within. The chart poses it and leaves it open. Held as a question, never as an answer, and never as a reading of whether a person has faith or lacks it.
The star can ask who you are before God. The reply is not written here.
Read for the presence or absence of an inner spiritual life, and kept open on purpose. The tradition holds this is the one point meant to be lived toward, not read off.
Where it rhymes
The same archetype, spoken in other systems.
