Sky and Earth folded together, the mix of two inheritances and the skill it yields.
Reading
The octagram is the eight-pointed star the Matrix draws from two squares laid over one another. Its straight cross carries the four cardinal points, the Sky point above and the Earth point below among them; its two diagonals carry the male line and the female line. Between the points sit the worked discs, each reduced from a pair. Soul searching is worked from the Sky point and the Earth point taken together.
The tradition reads this point as the mix of the two inheritances a person carries, the male line and the female line blended into one. From that blend it reads the building of relationships and the skills the blend yields, the way a life learns to join with others out of the material it was handed. Held as inheritance and pattern, not a claim about who any real mother or father was.
Two lines meet in one person, and the meeting is where the skill for others begins.
The Matrix names a slope here, the raw material a chart works with when it reaches for another. It never fixes whether a person can love or be joined, only how the reaching tends to start.
