The age ring · 0 to 80

The rim of the octagon is read as a clock. The eight points fall at even ages, 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, one for each corner and side of the figure. Between them run smaller marks, each stepping the years in between, roughly fifteen months apart, so no stretch of a life is left off the dial.

Read around the ring, a life becomes legible age by age. Each point carries the arcanum worked for its place on the star, and that card lends its tone to the years it sits over. The Matrix reads this as the color of a season, the weather a stretch of life tends to run in, never a fixed event set to arrive on a date.

The rim is a clock, and each hour on it wears the face of its own arcanum.
