Profile 2/5 · The hidden gift and the public projection

A profile is the pair of lines the two Suns land in: the personality Sun fixes the first number, the design Sun the second, that design side read for the instant the Sun sat 88° of solar arc behind its birth position, roughly three months before. Here the personality carries line 2, the Hermit, over line 5, the Heretic. Because the personality line falls below the design line, the engine marks it a right angle, a mostly personal process before it turns to face a crowd.

Both numbers are lines of an I Ching hexagram, counted from the base. Line 2 sits at the center of the lower trigram, the inner room, correct in its place but out of public sight. Line 5 sits at the center of the upper trigram, the classical seat of the ruler, the line everyone below looks up to and measures from a distance. That distance is the whole mechanic.

The Hermit’s talent is natural and half-hidden, the kind nobody builds, and the tradition holds it has to be called out before it shows. The Heretic stands where the call lands hardest. Line 5 is the seat others project onto, cast as savior or fraud by people who never came close enough to know.

Called out of the room, then mistaken for what the room needed.

Practitioners read the projection as the field around the seat, not the person sitting in it.

The gift is a practical solution handed to strangers, drawn from a talent kept private. The shadow is the same seat misread: hiding when the call is real, or believing the projection, crowned one week and blamed the next. Answer only when the call is true.
