Profile 2/4 · The hidden gift and the network that draws it out.

A profile is the pair of lines the two Suns land in: the personality Sun fixes the first number, the design Sun the second. Here the personality carries line 2, the Hermit, and the design carries line 4, the Opportunist. The engine that draws the chart marks this a right angle, since the personality line falls below the design line, and practitioners read the right angle as a mostly personal process, a life turned inward well before it turns to face a crowd.

Both numbers come from the six lines of an I Ching hexagram, counted from the bottom. Line 2 sits at the center of the lower trigram, the inner room, correct in its place but still out of public view. Line 4 opens the upper trigram, the first footing in the outer world. A 2/4 stands on that seam of its own hexagram: one half keeps the door shut, the other half only works through the people already inside.

The Hermit’s talent is the kind nobody builds. It arrives on its own, natural and half-noticed, and the tradition holds it has to be called out.

Someone has to knock before the Hermit answers.

The Opportunist answers through the network, the friends and the tested bonds, rarely the cold approach.

The shadow reads the same door backward: hiding when the call is real, or saying yes to the web out of habit until the solitude that fed the gift runs dry. The whole costume is a single instruction. Guard the room, and answer the knock.
