Profile 6 / 3 · The Role Model over the Martyr
The line that watches from the roof set over the line that keeps falling, a left-angle profile whose destiny is worked out through others.

A profile is two numbers, the line of the personality Sun over the line of the design Sun, and the system reads it as the costume a life wears, not a verdict on the one who wears it. Here the conscious line is the sixth, the Role Model, and the unconscious line beneath it is the third, the Martyr. Because the personality line sits higher than the design line and the pair is not 4/1, the bodygraph files this as a left angle: a life the system reads as turned outward, transpersonal, worked out through other people more than on the self alone.
The sixth line is the top line of every hexagram, the vantage above a figure already run through to its end. The I Ching keeps the third line one rung below the middle, at the top of the lower trigram, where footing gives way: the officer who advances and stumbles, the bond made and broken. So the person knows themselves as the observer on the roof, while underneath, out of sight, the Martyr keeps colliding with things and learning in the body what the roof cannot teach from above.
The system holds that the sixth line moves through three phases: a first third that crashes like any third line, a long stretch on the roof watching, then a descent as the example others read. The gift is an authority meant for others, tested over decades before it is spoken. The shadow is staying up top, calling the distance wisdom while the falls below go unadmitted.
Where it rhymes
The same archetype, spoken in other systems.
The Hermit
The one who went in first, standing where others can see the glow, the years of watching carried back down as a lamp.
