D24 · Chaturviṁśāṁśa

The twenty-fourth divisional chart, the Chaturviṁśāṁśa, also called the Siddhāṁśa, splits each sign into twenty-four parts of 1°15′ and re-maps each to a sign of its own. It is the chart of education and learning, the knowledge a person takes in and the way they hold it, from early schooling to the long apprenticeship of a craft. The D1 shows whether a life values learning; the D24 shows the texture of it.

The parts are counted from Leo in the odd signs and from Cancer in the even, the seats of the Sun and Moon, so that learning is reckoned from the two lights. Classical texts read a strong Siddhāṁśa as ease in study and a mind that keeps what it is given, without treating any placement as a ceiling on what can be learned.

Knowledge is less what a mind is handed than what it manages to keep.

On the Oroiael instrument the D24 is a classical reference rather than a chart cast live. It is read with Budha and the fifth house, intellect and native intelligence, on the rule the tradition trusts everywhere: a claim is firmer where the significators converge.
