Channel 9–52 wires the Sacral to the Root, two of the four motor centres, and the bodygraph names the bridge Concentration. Both ends are engines. The Root sits at the base as pressure, the Sacral as the sustained life force that answers it, and where a chart holds both gates the current runs as a closed circuit built to hold a single aim.

Concentration is stillness with an engine behind it.

Read the two hexagrams and the mechanism shows itself. Gate 52 carries the I Ching’s fifty-second figure, Keeping Still, the Mountain, stillness doubled, the back held so motionless the noise of the world drops away. Gate 9 carries the ninth, the Taming Power of the Small, a gentle restraint that gathers the tiny details until they add up to weight. Set them together and concentration is what you get: the mountain holds the frame still while the Sacral pours steady fuel into one narrow point, and the small things get finished because nothing is allowed to move the target.

Practitioners hold that this focus is a resource the person carries for others as much as for themselves, a pressure to concentrate that needs a worthy object. The gift is staying power, the capacity to sit with one thing until it yields what a scattered attention never reaches. The shadow is the same pressure spent on detail that does not matter, or the restlessness of stillness with nothing yet to hold. Focus is only ever as good as the thing it lands on.
