Amala · a benefic in the 10th

Amala, the spotless, forms when a natural benefic sits in the tenth house counted from either the Lagna or the Moon. The benefics that qualify are Jupiter, Venus, an unafflicted Mercury, and a waxing Moon. The tenth is the house of standing and public name, and the tradition reads a clean benefic there as a reputation without a stain, a good name that lasts.
