Cross 14 · Contagion, Empowering, Uncertainty: one axis of abundance on three angles

Gate 14 sits in the Sacral, the generative centre, and forms one channel, 2–14, the Beat, carrying its fuel up into the G. As a Sun gate it anchors an incarnation cross, the fixed geometry a life is said to be born onto, named for the gates the Sun and Earth hold at birth and again at the design instant. The personality axis runs from gate 14 to gate 8 in the Throat, its programming partner across the wheel: great possession in the belly, contribution in the voice. In its Right Angle form the design side completes the figure with gates 29 and 30, the yes that commits and the desire that burns.

The I Ching names hexagram 14 Dà Yǒu, Great Possession. Fire stands above heaven, the sun at midday with nothing in shadow, and the classical reading treats abundance as something that spreads by being seen. That spread is the family’s name.

The fire catches. Whether it warms or burns depends on what it is under.

The system reads the same possession three ways. The Right Angle Cross of Contagion turns inward, a life largely about its own process, the fuel and its heading sorted in private before the enthusiasm can catch in anyone else. The Juxtaposition Cross of Empowering is the narrow lane, a fixed fate held to one register: power handed to a direction over and over, wanted or not. The Left Angle Cross of Uncertainty turns outward, transpersonal, bound up with others and never told in advance whether the contribution will land.

Practitioners hold the gift with the cost. Carried well, abundance that feeds what is genuinely valued and spreads by example. Carried badly, force poured into a heading chosen out of fear, loud and unsure and catching all the same. The gate only supplies. The cross asks what a whole life spends it on.
