Cross 37 · The incarnation crosses carried by a Gate 37 Sun
Belonging as a life theme: the warmth and the terms on which a family holds itself together.
Reading
Gate 37 is seated in the Solar Plexus, the center the system reads as emotional, and it forms the channel of Community with gate 40 in the Heart. Its raw material is warmth: the touch, the shared meal, the reaching hand that says you belong here. Gate 40 provides; gate 37 binds the group around what it gives, and every family runs on some version of that bargain.
The reaching hand that says you belong here.
The I Ching names the thirty-seventh hexagram Jiā Rén, the Family. Wind comes forth from fire: heat rises off the hearth and spreads outward as air, influence working from inside a household to its edges. The old commentary asks each member to hold their place and reads the whole figure as the ordering of a home. Carried into the bodygraph, this becomes belonging itself, and the terms every belonging is struck on.
An incarnation cross names the larger theme a life is built around, drawn from the axis the Sun and Earth held at birth and the same axis eighty-eight degrees of solar arc earlier, then sorted by angle. The Right Angle Cross of Planning is read as a life largely about its own process, the household provisioned by private forethought. The Juxtaposition Cross of Bargains is the narrow fixed lane, a fate that keeps returning to the deal itself, the terms of belonging made a purpose. The Left Angle Cross of Migration runs transpersonal, a life entangled with others and on the move, the family carried past its own doorstep.
Practitioners hold the gift as loyalty that keeps its word, and the shadow as the bargain nobody named aloud, warmth spent on a belonging never really offered. A family is only as sound as the agreement it forgets it made.
